冬至快乐@甜品哥哥

It’s time to eat Tong Yuen again~! Yesterday was Winter Solstice Festival, a day for family to gather. So sad that I was not at home for few years to celebrate this festival, but I not forget to have some Tong Yuen (Rice Balls) ^^

My friend and I went to甜品哥哥 Hong Kong at SS2 and it was really crowded during this festival. We planned to take away but while waiting, we managed to get our seats so we decided to eat there instead.

I’m a person who sticks to traditional ginger soup always~! And one of the reason I love Tong Yuen is because I love ginger soup. LOL~! So, I ordered Ginger Soup with Sesame & Peanut Rice Balls.

Xian Ding Wei鲜定味@One Utama

Xian Ding Wei, the Taiwanese Tea Room has more and more branches nowadays. My friend NFT recommended this restaurant and we visited one of the branches when we dropped by One Utama.

I like the design of the interior, very tidy and cozy.

What To Eat?

Special Chili Sauce but not really suit my taste

NFT recommended the Mixed Fruit Tea that can be shared by both of us. =) The taste is quite nice and special.

There was a must order item for NFT – Sweet Potato Ball~! It is really very nice and good to chew. =) It may look like a ping pong ball but it soon turns ‘kemek’ when you put it into your mouth. =)

Again, I ordered Taiwanese Supreme Chicken in 3 varieties of Sauces (三杯鸡) because I think that it is the signature dish for Taiwanese.

正宗台湾三杯鸡@RM18.90

It didn’t disappoint me. The fragrant of the food impressed me when it was served. The chicken was well cooked; the meat was soft and good in taste. Thumbs up~!

NFT chose another tasty dish too – Fried Pork Chop With Wine Set.

The pork chop was crispy and I like its minced meat rice. =)

Each set comes along with this appetizer.

The leftover fruits in our drinks.

A nice restaurant with good quality of food, you shall give it a try if you like Taiwanese food. =)

Rocket United Cafe@SS2, PJ

There is a very interesting café situated at ss2, called Rocket United. From the name itself, u may know that it is opened by the DAP. You can see the wall and menu are full of the photos of them with the slogan “Just Change It!”

The Menu

The foods there are more to Malaysians’ style, such as Nasi Lemak, Nyonya Rice, Tomyam etc. We ordered Nasi Lemak with Sambal Sotong and Kampung Fried Rice with Satay.

Nasi Lemak with Sambal Sotong@ RM8.90

This was not bad, the rice was fragrant with coconut milk, comes together with cucumber slices, fried anchovies, roasted peanuts, half boiled egg, and the requisite sambal sauce. The sotong was cooked with lemongrass, tamarind, onions and chilies.

Kampung Fried Rice with Satay@ RM8.90

Kampung Fried Rice is one of the most popular dishes for all Malaysians. The rice is fried with crispy anchovies, prawns and kangkung greens. Two sticks of chicken satay were served together.

Ice Kacang@ RM3.90

Overall, the foods are quite nice with satisfying price. Good to try. =)

There are items for sales too….
