Delicious Nyonya@Tropicana City Mall

I was attracted by the outlook of this Nyonya restaurant when I was at Tropicana City Mall. The appearance is so cute, looks like a house with Nyonya decoration and there are few little cute paper umbrellas on the floor~ =)

Photo 1st b4 eating ^^

The interior – spacious & cosy~

The Menu

For appetizer, we ordered Pie-Tee, which is also known as ‘Top Hats’. It is a virtuous Nyonya munchies textured by crispy cases and mixed vegetables. I like this! Yummy~

Pie-Tee@ RM6.90

Okay, for main dishes, we ordered Kapitan Chicken & Asam Pedas Udang together with rice.

Kapitan Chicken@ RM13.90
- Classic Nyonya recipes, intensified by Lemongrass

One of the reasons I like this Kapitan Chicken is because the sauce is very rich. It was not really spicy, the chickens were soft too. Nice~!

Asam Pedas Udang @ RM16.90

I really love this dish, I could finish drinking all the asam pedas sauce~! It was superb~

Yummy dinner

Overall, I was satisfied with the food here, ambiance is nice and the service is good too. A bit pricey but I think it is worth for the quality of the food. =)

Another choice for you to dine in when you are at Tropicana City Mall.

Nyonya Colors@One Utama

There was one time after our Olympus flash mob show at Pavillion, we went to One Utama for shopping & dinner. I went to Nyonya Colors one time but I have not started my food blog that time so I won’t mind to visit there again cuz the food are quite nice too. I think no more introductions are needed, as it is quite famous of its Nyonya Kuih~

Of course we won’t miss its Nyonya Kuih & snacks.
We ordered one Pulut Panggang & one Cucuk Udang.

Cucuk Udang@RM2.00

Pulut Panggang@RM1.00

For main dishes, we chose Nasi Kunyit + Chicken and also Mee Siam + Honey Chicken. Although I’m not too sure whether the foods are original Nyonya Foods, I found the tastes are just nice.

Nasi Kunyit + Chicken@RM8.90

Mee Siam + Honey Chicken@RM8.90

I like my Mee Siam & Honey Chicken, the chicken was sweet with Honey~
I found it quite special although Z didn’t like the sweetness.

We opt for Bubur Cha Cha as our dessert. It had been quite a long time
I didn’t have it and it was nice!

Bubur Cha Cha@RM3.80

Overall, I enjoy the food there. It is a good place to dine in if you want to have a budget meal. Oh ya, there is no gov & service tax included!

Mama Sayang@ Jalan Klang Lama

Leaving office to client place is sometimes good for me as I can try new food~ =)
This time was at Jalan Klang Lama, FT brought me to a place called
‘Mama Sayang’
to have our lunch. From the outside, it doesn’t really look like
a restaurant but I must say it has its own unique design.
It has some very old school design,
and there was one moment I thought I was at Malacca~ :p
Oh Ya, it is a vege Nyonya restaurant~! Special, rite?

Nice old school feel~

FT ordered its special Dragon Fruit Fried Rice, not bad, red-pink fried rice – nice try ^^ And I chose its Cantonese Kuey Teow. It was just nice, not really special but smell good~

Dragon Fruit Fried Rice@ RM5.70

Cantonese Kuey Teow@ RM5.70

We sure won’t forget dessert, Cendol & Ice Kacang were just nice in the hot afternoon.

Cendol@ RM3.00

Ice Kacang@ RM3.00

Yummy~!

Like this curtain…Got feel~ =)

Mum’s Place@ Damansara Perdana

Yeah, my birthday night~! We have been discussed for so many places especially those one at Solaris but in the end Mr TTM aka our client & his gf, Evelyn brought me & FT to this special restaurant –Mum’s Place. I called it special not only bcuz of its nice nyonya & local food but the furniture. Yes, furniture. All the furniture, including tables, chairs, lamp, wall…. Anything in the restaurant that you fond of, you can buy it away~ and thus you can call it “Home Passions Furniture Gallery & Restaurant Mum’s Place”.

Menu

One thing that you should know is that reservation is necessary in order for you to
get a nice seat. It is a very big restaurant but it is always full house too. We didn’t
make any reservation but the seats that we got were not so nice.

I like the design of the restaurant

Yes, you can bring it home too if your budget is enough =)

Okay, get ready for food! TTM & Evelyn helped us to order all the
dishes since this was our first visit.

Portuguese ‘Devil’ Curry@ RM15.80/portion
-Pieces of chicken & potatoes cooked in thick spicy sauce and spices

Well, this dish was not that spicy for me and funny thing was I felt there
was a bit of ‘sardine’ taste~ and TTM also felt it :p

Fried Cencaru Fish with Chili Padi Paste & Petai
@ RM15.80 (R)
@ RM31.60 (L)

Wow~ This was really spicy! For ppl who love spicy, you hv to challenge this but
this was really nice! I love the spicy! Haha~

Cold water is just nice to cut the hot~ =p

Fried Honey Sotong@ RM11.80/portion

I personally like this dish although they said it was just so-so. It was sweet and crunchy;
my first time tried this kind of taste for sotong. It was like snack, nice~

Daun Keledek (Sweet Potatoes Leaves/Fang Shee Yip)
with Lime Juice, Dried Shrimps & Chili Padi
@ RM12.50 (R)
@ RM16.90 (L)

“Foo Yoong” Tan (Chinese-style Omelets)@ RM12.90/portion

All of our dishes~~Yummy!

TTM’s special request – sambal chili

TTM’s teh

We really enjoy our dinner especially the super spicy cencaru fish.
Too bad FT couldn’t take it~ We were full but TTM insisted to
have dessert and here we go….

Cendol with Red Beans@ RM5.30

Thai Style Water Chestnut@ RM5.30
-Water chestnut served in coconut milk & gula Melaka

Pulut Tekan@ RM5.30
-Glutinous rice served warm with ‘kaya’

Yam Pudding with Custard@ RM5.30

The desserts were not bad also. Good to try! =)
